Nursing, P.A. programs granted accreditation
Augsburg's programs in nursing and physician assistant training have received clean bills of health from their respective professional organizations by being granted full accreditation for the longest terms possible.
The nursing program has received full accreditation for eight years from the National League of Nursing, while the physician assistant training program was fully accredited for three years the longest possible term for new programs by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
"Full" accreditation in both cases means that the programs look solid in all aspects and that the accrediting agencies had no concerns about them that would require interim progress reports before the next scheduled review.
"Of course we're very pleased by this re-accreditation, and it reinforces the fact that we strive for excellence," said Professor Bev Nilsson, chair of the Nursing Department. "To be recognized in this way full accreditation with no recommnedations by our national accrediting organization is very gratifying."
